Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup hot brewed coffee
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp instant coffee granules
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brewed coffee
- 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
Instructions:
Start by heating the oven to 350F 175C
Butter and flour two round cake pans that are 9 inches in diameter
Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl
Buttermilk, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract should all be added
Beat at a medium speed until everything is well mixed
It will be smooth after you add the hot coffee
It is going to be thin, but thats okay
Spread the batter out evenly in the pans that have been prepared
Bake in a hot oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean
The cakes should cool in the pans for 10 minutes
After that, they should be taken out and put on a wire rack to cool completely
Put 1/2 cup of heavy cream and instant coffee granules in a small saucepan
Stir the mixture over low heat until the coffee grounds are gone
Take it off the heat and mix in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips until its smooth
Soak it up and let it cool down
Powdered sugar, unsalted butter, and 1/4 cup of brewed coffee should be mixed together in a different bowl until the mixture is smooth and creamy
Spread the coffee-flavored frosting on one of the cake layers that has been left to cool
Spread the chocolate ganache all over the top and sides of the cake after putting the second cake layer on top
Put toasted hazelnuts that have been chopped on top of the ganache
To let the ganache set, put the cake in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving
